Re: Pipe lighter

I use one of 3

A Xikar single flame torch for windy-ish days, that I also use for cigars
A Beattie Jet Lighter (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhbJYF0KcYQ) that I rescued form Ebay.
Or a Zippo...

Re: Really Good Torch Lighter?

I really like the Blazer Z-plus insert. Turns a Zippo into a good jet-torch lighter.

Re: Drew Estate Java Review

I agree with your review -- I review this cigars thinner cousin a few months ago. (here (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=24172))
The thinner one is called the Wafe (or wafer) and it...

Re: K. A. Kendall 7-20-4 corona

Hey, nice review. These are one of my go-to smokes.
I live right in the same town as Twins Smoke Shop, so I have a ready supply! Kurt is a great guy too.

I reviewed this cigar a few months ago...

Re: Cut or Punch

I've been thinking abotu switching to a punch. The last several cigars I've had (all decent ones, too) have developed really hard draws after about 1/3. After shoving a paperclip in the draw...

Re: Mini Reviews: 5 Cigars Under 5 Dollars (Part 1)

I recently had one of the new(?) Triple Maduro Champions. Just as much of a winner as the regular Champion, but with deep, dark Maduro goodness.

Re: What cigar did you smoke today II?

Punch Champion Double Maduro.
Nice smoke, pretty much what you'd expect taking the smooth, flavorful Punch Champion and adding Maduro richness. Like the regular Champion, this is one of my favorite...

Re: cars and coffee talk

That site is useless. There are LOTS more C&C events that aren't listed here. I know of two Cars and Coffees that take place on a regular schedule within 20 miles of me. (during the warmer months,...

Re: Liga Privada #9 Flying Pig

Excellent review!
I had a "regular" #9 at my B&M a few weeks ago (which I loved) and I'm pretty sure I saw a few of these funny looking ones. I'm going for a smoke today, I'll have to try one if...

Re: Cigarette Size?

Davidoff makes cigarillos and mini-cigarillos that are roughly cigarette sized. I have a box of Silver Mini Cigarillos that aren't a bad smoke to get a quick 5 minute hit of cigar flavor....

I do the same, even with my usual guillotine cut. Definitely cuts down (pun!) on the ragged edges....

Re: Whattya Makin' For Christmas Dinner?

Well, Christmas dinner is the province of the In-laws. But our family tradition for Christmas Eve is Chinese food. Last night I made, Hot & Sour Soup, Chicken "rangoons" (mine are not all cream...

What all do you guys smoke whilst working outside?
With winter having arrived and most of the East Coast being slammed (or about to be) with a Northeaster, what's a good snow-blowing cigar?

Psyched - Opus X

Sweet! Just scored a few Opus X Belicoso XXX cigars for $11 each. My local B&M owner is a great guy -- definitely in it for the love of cigars, not for cranking up the profit margins to...

Re: Is Opus X really "all that"?

I believe they're being released right about now. My local B&M is supposed to have some this week.

And I'd consider them worth up to about $20. They are smooth, creamy and rich.

Re: Similar to Opus X?

Thanks for all the input!

The reason I asked is beacuse I was heading out to my local B&M's lounge today, I wanted to try something "similar" to the Opus. When I checked back, the only reply...

Similar to Opus X?

A few months ago I was in Vegas and visited the Fuente store in the Caesar's Palace shops where I paid way too much money for an Opus X. But it was a wonderful smoke! Rich, spicy, lots of...

I've been smoking for about a year and a half, but still fairly inexperienced in regards to the variety of sticks I've tried.
Here's a...

Mine aren't quite as good as most of the ones in this thread, but I think they came out OK. I don't have a great camera (Canon Powershot G6) for this kind of shooting. It's not an SLR.

Re: A celebratory Opus X (and my first ever review

Congrats on the new job.

Your review is pretty much what I experienced with my first Opus X a couple of months ago. I loved it -- just wish they weren't so darn expensive.

Drew Estate Java Wafe

This cigar was given to me to try by a friend. Very unusual shape – 5” long, but with a rectangular cross-section about ½” wide and no more than Ό” thick. It’s a flavored cigar made by a...

Yeah, Twins is great -- that's where I usually shop. Their Londonderry store is not far from me.
A friend was asking about a good cigar store up in Laconia where he vacations. I'll suggest...

Re: What do you do with your bands?

What kind of glue do you use? Any tips on how to do it? I'm guessing that there's more to it than simply gluing bands to the bottom of the ashtray.

Re: What do you do with your bands?

I save mine too. When I get enough, I thought I might glue them to a piece of foamboard and make a collage/picture and frame it on the wall. Be a nice illustration of my cigar smoking history....
