Re: The Pacific - DISCUSSION THREAD

I'm cautiously optimistic. Band of Brothers was awesome and it's hard for me to imagine another series coming close. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

Re: Official Asylum Fly-fishing Thread

First time out this season for winter steelhead fishing, and I'll be darned if I didn't actually get one. A nice 29" hen that fought like crazy. Four good runs and left the water twice. This is one...

Re: Official Asylum Fly-fishing Thread

Went trout fishing after work last Friday. Luckily my buddy was an old hand at bass fishing. The trout fishing sucked but the bass fishing rocked. Fun, technical fishing from a float tube, casting...

Re: What are you reading?

The Coldest Winter by David Halberstam. Fascinating book. Some interesting political parallels with current politics.

Re: Official Asylum Fly-fishing Thread

Trout fishing is back, here in the Seattle area! Went out 2 weeks ago to one of my favorite lowland lakes, got all set up and realized I'd forgotten my waders. Cursed a blue streak and headed home...

Question Question for you auto mechanic types

Tomorrow morning I'm going to look at a 2000 Mazda Protege I found on Craig's List, for my son. So far everthing sounds good on paper. BUT. The Carfax report shows the car failed emissions tests in...

Re: Parties and smoking cigars

I usually bring some but rarely smoke in that situation. I always end up feeling like an animal in the zoo with everybody watching me as if puffing on a cigar is one of the most bizarre acts a man...

Re: Official Asylum Fly-fishing Thread

Took a trip to New Orleans last April and booked one day on the flats to fly fish for redfish with a guide. It was amazing! Sight fishing for those bulldogs is a blast. And they've got some...

Nothing for me for 1.5 months now. Waiting for the steelhead fishing to shape up within the next week or so and I'll get back out. Sure do miss that trout fishing though.

Re: Assassination of Jesse James by Coward Robert

I really enjoyed this movie. Most people I know didn't like it, said it was too slow. I'm a history junkie though so I like this kind of stuff.

Re: Is anyone else fastidious with their stuff

Never changed the batteries. Only tested hygrometers when first purchased. Don't even have a hygrometer in one of my coolers. Let my cigars cool down in the winter and heat up in the summer. And they...
