Re: Least Bad Altadis?

I'm really impressed with the Montecristo Reserva Negra, the new maduro. A little pricey though. Omar is a fine smoke as well, and a little easier on the wallet.

Re: Where Do You Buy Your Beans?

If I had the scratch I'd do the same. This is a truly amazing cup.

:tpd:

Dang! 5 pounds is all I could get past the family accounting oversight committee, but I completely and unequivocally agree -- Aricha 27 is :dr

Re: Fresh Roast Plus 8

:tpd:

Past the start of second crack and you're in FC territory, very soon into FC+. The sugars in the bean are carbonizing, the beans are getting oily, and you're probably seeing and smelling...

Re: Fresh Roast Plus 8

I'd guess by the oil this was at least FC+, maybe vienna. That's just a guess though. It takes some practice to tell roast levels because the type of roaster and the type of bean are both variables...

Re: I know someone else has thought of it.

Maybe I've been spending too much time on my fire prevention merit badge while operating the Behmor, but I wonder where chaff would collect in this contraption... and the combustion possiblities....

Re: What's the last movie you watched?

Mongol. Really good movie -- nicely balanced. You could take it as a historical examination, or a drama, or an action flick. It's been compared to Braveheart, but it's a little more subdued. I'm...

Re: Roaster review: Behmor 1600

I was really cautious when I first started using the Behmor because of all the warnings, but I think they're overstating the fire danger to cover themselves. It's not an idiot proof machine --...

Re: Kauai or Maui?

Kauai's North shore is nothing short of incredible. A couple years ago my wife and I spent two weeks snorkeling near Ha'ena (Tunnels and nearby beaches) and hiking the Kalalau trail. An experience of...

Re: Famous Movie Quotes

Touch of Evil -- fantastic movie! The opening shot puts CGI flim-flammery to shame.

Re: Reyes Family: Premier?

The regular version with the CR wrapper is a fuller bodied cigar than you'd expect from Reyes -- I liked it better than the PI line. Like a lot of PI sticks they tend to get flinty and unpleasant in...

Re: La Tradicion Cubana

LTC is one of the best kept secrets out there. I love the aroma this cigar puts out -- cedary, almost like sandalwood at times. It goes downhill pretty quickly after the first two-thirds, but the...

Re: What are you reading?

A really interesting book. It's been about a decade since I read it, but I remember really being taken in by it.

Re: What was your last Scotch purchase?

Just the 12 yo, which is a bit more complex and a little sweeter. Now that I think of it, I should explore the Bowmore line a bit more. I've always gone to the Legend because it's such a great value.

Re: Tuscon Superbowl viewers seeing Red (and P00RN
