Re: Confessions of a Newbie
I had one and quite enjoyed it. It was spicy and flavorful--a fun little stick--and I woulnd' mind having some more.
What you eat or drink with a cigar can definitely affect the flavors of the...

Re: Tatuaje T110 Review
Nice review.
I found the T110 to be a complex powerhouse. I tasted fresh jalapeno or serrano in that first "smack you in the gob" inch, and after my mouth had become used to the spice it mellowed...

Re: Make your own pickles?
I've never really gone by a recipe. I looked at a few recipes to get a general guideline, then I just made it up as I went along. :)
I didn't mention it, but yes I do (when I remember) add salt...

Re: Make your own pickles?
I also enjoy making my own pickles. There's a farmer's market just down the road from my apartment, and on weekends they have vegetable wholesalers; this means that I can get tons of veggies for...

Re: Mild to Medium Maduros
I haven't had many maduros, but the Tatuaje Reserva SW Maduro (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=18214) is probably more towards medium-bodied. It's got full flavor, but it's not...

El Triunfador Lanceros - A meal of a cigar
I got a few of these in the mail today, and I just had to try one. Yes, I probably should have waited. The only thing that seemed to suffer was the draw :ss
The very beginning of this cigar...

Re: Any decent decaf?
There are some great decaf coffees out there. The most experience I've had with them has been with Tanith's home roast. She can give you many details about getting into roasting coffee yourself.

Re: USPS pisses me off
Booo USPS, Hooray Xicar.
A big + for Xicar in the customer service column. Being an avid reader of The Consumerist (http://consumerist.com/), it's heartwarming to read stories like this.

Re: What cigar did you smoke today?
I had me a Padron el Cheapo (I forget what the real designation of the stick is--mostly because it doesn't say on the band--but it's one of their lower-end cigars). Was delicious. I look forward to...

Re: Tatuaje Reserva SW Maduro
The SW Maduro was definitely an elegant, relaxing, and enjoyable smoke. Just about every other Tatuaje is bold, powerful, spicy, vibrant, complex, and in-your-face; it's hard to compare the SW to...
