Oh, definitely personalize them if you would, write on them, tell a story, whatever you feel like doing. It'll be a lot more fun if we get cards with character.

My 7-year daughter is putting together a display for the local fair that she hopes will feature a postcard from each of the 50 states. I figure, through this forum, I might just have all 50 states...

Most stock lenses aren't spectacular but don't let it keep you from making great images. 95% of all lenses are better than 95% of all photographers.

Don't plug it in via hot shoe but you can use a PC chord easy peasy. That is how we do with our cameras that we use to shoot graduations. It does mean you have to control the flash manually, but...

Try them both before buying, but don't get hung up on the Nikon/Canon wars, they both make great stuff and unless you are shooting in extreme conditions (low light, multiple off camera flashes, etc.)...
