Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

Thanks Stogieboy, that makes it a lot easier, I should have done that in the first place. I'm new to on-line forums and I'm still finding my way around.

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments. As Jordan (JE3146) mentioned it was my wife's brother that built the cabinet. I'll be sure to pass along the kind words. I had to google Norm Abram to...

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

Very close. After 6 months of waiting it should finally be finished this week. It has to go in a year-end show that the school puts on so I won't have it in my possession for a few more weeks.

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

Finally, an update on the cabinet project. It has taken longer and cost more than originally planned but I’m really happy with the quality of work. I moved about a month ago so I’ve been extra busy...

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

I'm really not sure. I've heard the Accumonitor system does a pretty good job of raising the humidity fairly quickly. I would guess 2-5 days?

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

It's going to be a real beast for sure. We'll probably build a crate for it and use an appliance dolly to move it.

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

I considered using the expanding foam but since I'm running by wires in that space as well I would't be able to get at the wiring if I needed to in the future.

I wonder how Aristocrat and Avallo...

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

I'm using 1.5" thick rigid insulation. I hadn't consider condensation in the insulation to be an issue since it's isolated by the Spanish cedar. Are you thinking condensation will form in the...

Hey Rudy, anytime. The cabinet should be finished some time in March so if you're out this way stop by for a smoke and check it out.

Re: Cooled Cabinet Humidor Project

Yes, there is about a 2" curve in the front. That was Dave's idea (my brother in law that is doing the woodworking). He said he wanted a challenge, go figure.:)

Nothing new has been done over the holidays. The Spanish cedar lining and shelves are going to start next week. I'll keep the pics coming as things progress.
