Re: Photography Thread

Couple of frames from the Edgar Winter show here in town last night. Nice 75-seat venue and we were in the third row.

Re: Photography Thread

No sweat, conversation was always about quality. Thanks for the comments on composition — I kinda dig it too. And I especially hate the red LEDs. They always seem to make the sensor take a crap.

Re: Photography Thread

Hear what you're saying about larger sensor. Have a few older P&S cameras around here. May bring one with me next time. Would love to bring my P7000, which takes dynamite images, but just a little...

Re: Photography Thread

Been to few concerts lately and am having trouble getting some decent iPhone pics. Love to bring some real gear in but not feasible. Just can't figure out how to get some decent frames, yet I've...

Think it also boasts a 1/500 sec flash speed which is awesome.
Just picked a mint — and I mean mint — D70s with a VR mid zoom for $125 for my daughter. Have read reports of people using CF-SD...

Re: Photography Thread

Great post Brad. To me, an 85/2.8 is a perfect DSLR portrait lens. Back in the film days, I still shot Nikon but inherited a bag of MF Pentax stuff. The body was crap, but there was a Pentax 100/2.8...

Re: Photography Thread

To eliminate camera shake, if you can, use a tripod and use the self-timer set at 2 sec. Free vs. cost of wired cable release and you get the same result.

Re: Photography Thread

Thought I'd weigh in on the discussion.
Canon and Nikon each have their pros and cons. I've been a Nikon shooter since I was 16 and bought my first "real" camera, an FG-20. My son is now 16 and we...

Re: Photography Thread

Had the opportunity to catch the Johnny Winter Band in a tiny 80-seat venue last night.
Lighting was minimal and I couldn't use flash, so had to shoot at 1600-2000 iso and handhold at very low...

Re: Photography Thread

Anyone have experience with Yongnuo gear? Looking to pic up another flash and some TTL triggers and the price. Reviews seem pretty solid, overall, especially for the triggers.

I've been thrilled with the P7000's performance, especially after firmware upgrade.

Re: Photography Thread

For a long time I've been of the mind that bodies just don't have the same staying power that they did when we used film. Digital gets obsolete so quickly. The Nikon F2 was a workhorse in the 70s and...
