Finally bought some Matulasem 15, it's pretty dang good. I'd put it 3rd just behind RZ23 (1st) and Zaya (2nd) as far as sipping rums go

I acquired two more bottles of rum this past weekend, both Tanduay from the Philippines
one is the 5year Rhum, and the other is the 12 year superior. I don't know much about them but some buddies...

The Cruzan was 23 bucks, so the same as the Appleton
once I open it, I'll do a side by side and the better of them will become my "old faithful" type as well as they're relatively cheap and...

Finished off my Zaya last night
it has been replaced, for now, by some Cruzan Single Barrel Estate Rum
I still have half or more of my RZ23, Pampero and Appleton Reserve

It's the Trini version, and the bite wasn't bad, but it was present. But whoever said it tastes like vanilla extract smells was dead on.
the aftertaste is like pure adams extract on the palate,...

I compared my Appleton Estates today (Reserve and Extra 12)
the Reserve was so much smoother, and slightly sweeter. the 12 year has a strong alcohol burn/kick at the end. I don't think I'll be...
