Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

Dunno about others, but since starting to use my CPAP, I've noticed a marked drop in the intensity and duration of the colds I do get. Whether that's from the stream of warm, moist air flowing...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

Not a problem. It's amazing to me how many people, especially men, seem to have this problem, most of them undiagnosed and/or untreated. Glad to hear you are doing something about this - I know after...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

The big machines are not that expensive as medical supplies go, usually run about 3-400 I think. I just pack mine up and carry it with me when I travel. The extra bag is a pain when going through...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

I get new hose/mask/filters every three months, when the DME supplier calls me to ask if I need it. I use only distilled water, but I don't dump the existing water every night - bit of a waste IMO. I...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

You will see more benefit sleeping longer each night. I know I was down to 4 or so hours a night, since it didn't seem to matter how much I slept, I was still tired. Once I started using my CPAP, 6-7...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

No update, just curious how often people generally go back for re-evaluation.

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

Not caused me any problems at all. If anything, my nose is generally clearer for being blasted with warm, moist air every night, so snorking is quite easy.

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

Good luck man. It might well take you some time to get used to using it. You will also see the biggest results within the first 2-3 weeks. It's amazing how much more rested I am than before I was...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

I didn't have my testosterone tested, but I will say without any hesitation that my sex drive is monumentally higher than it was before I started on the CPAP. It wasn't quite driven home to me until...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

you understand the risks associated with untreated apnea? It's not just about snoring. That is the symptom most associated with it, but not even the primary effect.

BTW, you might want to check...

Re: Sleep Apnea Support/Questions Thread

My name is Pete and I have sleep apnea.

I'm sure I had it for years before I was diagnosed about 2 years ago. My ex-wife bugged me for quite some time to get tested. I never did until after we...
