It's all random. Everytime you jump a level you either gain an attribute or weapon. You do sometimes boost a little health each bump.
Your stats get bumped by you attributes...example "Herculean...

I can't even get to the fight. Everytime I change screens I get a virus warning.

I know.....I just wish someone could get to level 10 and create the "Asylum Clan".
I have another Brute that is only on Level 4 and he is pretty hard core...
Check him out...I even love his...

Each level you move up to it gives you either a weapon, an animal or a special skill. Your attributes go up depending on your special skills. Example..I only had a strength of 5...I got the special...
