Re: What are you roasting today?

Check out Sweet Maria's. They have a lot of different beans, including blends. You should be able to get a sampler with a number of different ones you could try.

Re: What are you roasting today?

Depends on if I get off my lazy butt and roast it up. Typically I can go through 12oz of beans in 7-10 days.

Re: What are you roasting today?

My last order was from Burman, 5lbs of Brazilian Bob-O-Link and 5lbs of Indonesian Balinese. I see both are currently out of stock, but they have other varieties of each of those.

The half pound...

Re: What are you roasting today?

Roasted a batch of Colombian Supremo today in the Behmor. Did this one out in the garage, instead of the basement. Had to use a heavy duty extension cord, which may have robbed it of power. It was a...

Same here. My personal intake has increased since besides my travel mug, I now take a thermos of coffee to work.

Re: What are you roasting today?

Roasted a pound of Brazil Mogiana today. Took it well into 2nd crack. A bit too far than I planned. Just have to see how it turned out this weekend. Tried a couple beans whole and they don't taste...

Re: What are you roasting today?

I've been doing 1lb batches, but with a 2 min pre warmup. Tried the 13.3oz batch size since I'd read on the Behmor forums of someone doing this, on the 1lb setting and it working well. No warmup....

Re: What are you roasting today?

Behmor 1600. Love the unit, but you have to make sure you pick a roast setup that gives you enough time to get where you want. I did 13.3oz on a 1lb setting and still ran out of time. The unit will...

Re: What are you roasting today?

I did a batch of Costa Rican the other day. Barely made it to first crack before the timer ended. Thought I wouldn't have a drinkable batch. Turns out I was wrong. This is the lightest roast I've...

Roasted last night, 1lb each of El Salvador Finca Siberia Bourbon and Hawaiian Maui Mokka. The Mokka always gives me problems. Never heard 1st crack. that was using my Behmor with 1-P5-D settings.

Nice pickup Shane. I think Brazillian coffee is my favorite, followed closely by Ethiopian. I did roast up some Kenyan beans the other night and what I"m currently drinking.

Re: What are you roasting today?

Figure why not preheat the beans as well. Give them a head start. I don't use the profiles as much. I go by sound. I listen for end of first crack and then go from there as to how dark I want it.

Re: What are you roasting today?

Shane, i have the Behmor. For me, it was a great investment. It can do up to 1lb batches, isn't that hard to clean, and has all the different roast temp curves and profiles that you can really custom...

Yea, I'm still not sure about Sumatran myself. Try the Brazil roasted darker next time. I think they taste better darker.
