I don't...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Hal, that 1911 was gone. I went back and checked.
I should have looked harder when I was there, but I really didn't like the gun at all.
Still, I should have picked it up just for the trade value....

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I was looking for an LC9 with a Crimson Trace and I fell into this Beretta Nano 9mm with a Crimson Trace, extra mag, and the standard other junk for $369.
Our gun store is blowing out all the used...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Hal, I saw a Kimber Tactical Ultra II (http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/tactical-ii/tactical-ultra-ii) at Gander Mountain a few days ago, $750 used.
I didn't mess with it much, but they didn't know...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I wear my guns out, but I remember when I was a kid I'd buy one to put away.
Then I'd get it out and wear it out, too.
I lived in the sticks and the first thing the guys sold to pay their fines...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I'm not sure why Kimber went with Blue for that summer collection stuff.
They have some camo-ish stuff that doesn't look bad.
I'm all about the stainless and rosewood, myself.
I'd carry that blue...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, Hal.
I wouldn't buy into the "feminine" thing, but I'm old. I could care less. I'm guessing that when someone is looking at that thing pointed at their face, the...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I have a 7 round mag that sits in the safe. It hung up once.
The 6 round mag has never hung up, and I've dumped a lot of cheap russian ammo through that gun.
That's not to say magguts wouldn't work...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Halitosis, I'm gonna get a Kimber CDP or Ultra 2 or something in that wheelhouse, it makes a good sidearm/ccw.
This little .380 I have is more for your boot or back pocket.
Kimber incorporates a...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Ya know, I have CNC files for 1911 grips. I can make them out of pretty much anything.
If I ever get my badself a 1911 frame, I'm going to make a bunch. See what I like best, ya know?
