Re: Kindle Vs. Kindle Fire
I agree with this.
The single biggest reason why I don't like the Kindle Fire: 8GB built in memory without a way to expand it. And only about 5.5GB of that is usable for content.
Amazon wants...

There's a bunch of them. The table in that link shows what each service offers. Any of them should work for your needs.

Re: What's a good laptop brand?
The blog touched on four points, irrespective of whether it's valid or not:
1. cost.
2. productivity.
3. standards.
4. product longevity.
All are very valid criteria for making a decision on...

Re: Video conversion program?
For transcoding audio/video, Any Video Converter is a very good program. Simple and for most purposes, perfect.
Although it gets totally wonky when you get into the really high bit rate stuff--I...

Re: Video conversion program?
MKV (Mastoska) is a file format. You can store any type of video or audio stream in it. Similar with AVI. It's merely a file format.
Think of it this way, let's say you save a picture in a word...

Re: Storage overkill. How many gigs you got?
Except Bill Gates never said that.
I'm not sure who originally said this nor why it's attributed to Gates, but he's gone on to say:
"I've said some stupid things and some wrong things, but not...

Re: Emotions out of control
It's not completely worthless. But you're right, deals are becoming more and more rare.
I did manage to score 20 Oliva Master Blend 3 Torps for $116 last week, but that's the only "deal" I...

Like I said, it's probably the use of high fructose corn syrup instead of cane sugar. I know that I've done "blind taste tests" before without really realizing it. Some of my friends are Canadians...

It's standard cola, only bottled in a non-US country. US is the only place that uses high fructose corn syrup instead of cane sugar. Living in the Seattle area, occasionally, I see Coca-Cola from...

Re: CI's "Make Me An Offer"
You need to be a bit careful about that though.
I don't really know why, but different cigar vendors will have wildly different prices on various blends.
For example, Atlantic has some of the...

Re: 2nds For everyday smokes?
Have you actually tried them?
Because when I first started smoking, I was a pretty big RP fan. So naturally, I was picking up "firsts" of RP Vintage 90/92, Decade and OWR. I also picked up several...

Re: 2nds For everyday smokes?
I suspect it's more an overrun than cosmetic flaws. I've seen plenty of "firsts" with cosmetic flaws on them. And once you remove the band, and place 5 "firsts" next to 5 seconds, odds are you...

Rarely.
But at just a hair over $2/cigar, they're very much worth the price. They can easily hold their own against cigars costing 2 to 3 times as much.
It's probably the only reason why I even...

Don't know about this batch, the last two have been box pressed-ish. Meaning it's kind of rounded, but looks like it was squished.

Re: C-Bid deals?
I stopped using the MSRP as a guage since virtually no online retailer ever sells any cigar for MSRP. Instead, the gauge is based on the lowest price from a half dozen retailers that I frequent.

Re: Uneven Burn Advice...really?
About the only advice that seems to work for lopsided burns is to turn the slow burning side down on the ashtray in between draws.
This does seem to help with the slightly askew burns but when it...

Re: Do you need a server AND a humidor?
Are you referring to Intel SLC based drives? They are averaging around $600 for a 64GB system. SLC based drives are EXTREMELY expensive right now (there's also the M line which is MLC based, and...
