Re: fugu
I dont think I would eat fugu outside of Japan. So few sushi chef's are actually licensed. But it would be an experience. There was a show on FoodNetwork where Andrew Zimmern had a whole meal of fugu.

Re: fugu
I knew of a few places in Los Angeles that would sell fugu.. but the waiting list was years long and it was so astronomically expensive that it put it outside of something I'd be able to try.
So the short answer is "no". :D |
Re: fugu
I had fugu last winter in NYC. To be honest- Im very glad I had it, but it doesn't have much taste. Had it fried and sashimi style.
The real poisonous stuff doesn't really exist here. The coral the fish eats makes the organs poisonous. |
Re: fugu
funny that Julian would bring up eating puffer-fish today:r:r:r

Re: fugu
I had it at a small but pretentious place which promoted the fugu lifestyle. It blew.:ss

Re: fugu
Fugu is one of those things that if I had the opportunity to try, I would have to. I love how when they serve it, it's so fresh it's still moving.
