Anyone wanting to view the live NASA feed of the eclipse over north america, here is the URL:

https://eclipse.stream.live/

My university (PSU) will be one of the first online with shots of totality.

I'm going to a Columbia Fireflies baseball game. Baseball and total solar eclipse!

Gonna eat Sun Chips and a Moon Pie today. Supposed to be 91% eclipse here, it's cool and all but not worth getting in a mass of humanity to get into the 100% zone further south. I am going to check "gas buddy" in the totality belt to see how much the eclipse chasers are getting hosed.

Got my shadow box ready :tu

Not gonna spend $15 on a pair of paper glasses that may or may not work for one use :sl

I was going to bring my arc welding helmet to work, but it's only a #12 gold and you're supposed to have a #14 for viewing. So, it looks like I'm watching it on the internet.

Hosed not just in gasoline prices, but lodging as well. I don't even want to know how much a hotel room would cost in the total zones

Cloudy and raining in KC so a lot of the activities planned for today here are a bust.

Not in the total eclipse line, but might get to see something if the clouds go away.

We were in the path of totality here in Southern Illinois. It was pretty dang awesome.

Threw the shadowbox away the first time I looked through somebody else's glasses, before the thing even happened :r

Clouds are pretty bad right now, but I did get a halfway decent pic.

Glad I saw a tip online to look at the shadow of tree leaves if they're dense enough to only let a little light come through, the picture on the left was when it was at it's peak (92% totality according to the internet), the one on the right was a few hours later to compare, same tree

Clouds and rain here pretty made it almost a non event. It got dark but not as dark as I thought it would.

Only about 70% here, so Joisey not as much in the dark as much of the nation. Watched it the two safest way possible . . . first half on TV, then went out with a cigar and stood under a tree, looking at the shadows like Ben above.

Looks like we'll be in the path of totality again in 2024 as well.

Re: Eclipse viewing

It was mostly cloudy for the beginning of the eclipse. About 15 minutes before totality, a big blue hole appeared in the clouds over the ballpark. We got a perfect view. Amusingly, the players all laid down in the grass with their solar glasses on. Quite a sight in itself.
