Polar Bear Plunge - A Looney Tale

Those looneys in Wisconsin have a New Years Tradition, called the Polar Bear Plunge.

-This year the water was particularly cold ... note the icebergs.
-Even the polar bear decided to take a hiatus.

Some brave souls, however, braved the elements...

Ahhh.... a refreshing and invigorating way to start the year!

p.s.
Even brought the celebratory cigar ... Honduran Sancho Panza ... I was shivering too hard to light it.

There are several charities that can be involved - in my case a donation to Special Olympics. (They do it again is several weeks - not me though).

I'm pretty sure if I were to try something like that my entire body would curl up and they'd have to put me in an oven to get me out of the fetal position.

My brother actually does this every year in Waupaca. He almost had me talked into it a couple of years ago, but luckily once I got to the lake, I came to my senses. :D
