Gurkha master select
This 6 inch ring 50 Toro is nicely packed in cellophane with a piece of cedar wrapped around the foot of the cigar. The wrapper is dark, oily, smooth and has a bit of a silky feel to it. The construction feels good, the aroma is a deep aroma of hay and the predraw is close to perfect and gives a peppery flavor.

Guess I taste both but because the flavor is perfectly balanced it is hard to find out what I actually taste. The flavor isn’t strong, I would call this a medium smoke. After an inch I tasted some chocolate and then the cigar is blend for a while, no specific flavor. http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/f...a/DSC01145.jpg http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/f...a/DSC01146.jpg After 2 inch I could taste a sweet leather and some sweet cedar. Midway I noticed the power of the cigar increase a little. The texture is a bit creamy but peppery too, all as a support to the woody flavor. Even though the cigar gained some power it stays medium http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/f...a/DSC01147.jpg The draw was fine and the smoke was ok. The ash was white and firm, and the burn was pretty straight. Would I buy this cigar again? Maybe, this is the first Gurkha that I liked. Construction: 14 / 20 Draw: 14 / 20 Appearance: 16 / 20 Smoke & ash: 7 / 10 Burn: 8 / 20 Aroma (first part) 7 / 10 Aroma (middle part) 6 / 10 Aroma (last part) 7 / 10 |

I love it, down the slope he goes. :D I find this one to be a very solid smoke, very consistant in taste and construction. I good one to go to when I want a known smoke and nothing new. |
Re: Gurkha master select
I have been on a slope for a long time Mike, but not on Gurkha's and that will never happen. I had too many Gurkha dislikes to go down that road.

Re: Gurkha master select
Why did you give the burn an 8 out of 20?
|
Re: Gurkha master select
F@^&(, must be a 16 out of 20.

Thanks for the review. I've smoked a lot of Gurkhas and haven't had many to impress me, but I do have a 5pk of the Master Selects resting. Looking forward to it!
