CAO America

Anyone try the CAO America? I was gifted the box containing the entire America line. I smoked one of them last night, Robusto I believe, and I was pleasantly surprised. Tasted pretty good, but that is all I got -- I'm a newb so my palate is still "developing."

Anyway, any positive experiences out there? Flavors I should look for in the next one?

I've had several and was not too impressed compared to some of their other smokes..

As for other CAOs, the Brazilia is nice and the Gold is a great mild smoke and I would even smoke the Italia before smoking one of the Americas.

I love the CAO's, but this one was more hype. It's a good smoke, but not a great one. They do pick up a little more flavor with some rest.

It's OK, not great. It looks better in the humi then it tastes in your mouth. :ss

It is a good looking cigar. I have one in my humidor that I don't want to smoke because "it adds so much color!!".:D

I loved the one that I smoked. Bought from my local B&M, prolly a little wet, but tasty nonetheless. :2

Agreed. It is a good smoke, but nothing spectacular.

Yep. I thought it was an average cigar. It looks great though.

A beautiful, tasteless yet overpriced cigar imo.

As a gift, it's a really good smoke. I enjoyed my two. But to have to buy them on a regular basis, well, there are many more cheaper, better tasting sticks out there. Does have a lovely band, though.

i picked up a few of the anthems (coffins) about 9 months ago because my b+m had em for $10. only have one left, and was told they needed age, so i have yet to smoke it. it certainly is a pretty cigar, especially in the nice coffin, probably over the summer i'll get around to smoking it. sucker's huge

I have never tried these but I am becoming a bigger fan of the CAO line after trying the LX2 and the MX2. For some reason, I always stayed away from this brand but I find myself buying more now.

The gold maduro was the first cigar I ever smoked, and I really like them. The America I tried was okay, but yes, as others said, there are better smokes for the price. I've got an mx2 that is aging, and quite beastly looking. What flavors have ya'll detected in the america? I couldn't pick much up, and it was a pretty long time ago.

I think the fact that they were a gift affected the taste -- mine was pretty good. I'd definitely agree that they look delicious. The pinstripe and the colorful label are outstanding. Saving these seems like a good plan. I'm going to have to light the biggest, most American one of them up on the 4th of July. Either the Anthem 8.5 x 50 or the Landmark 6 x 60.

I think they are a decent smoke, and they certainly are better after a few months of rest. I wouldn't buy a box, but it is one of the better CAO's IMO.
