adding beads to a cigar caddy
The thread on putting humidifying devices in a travel humi got me thinking. I love my ten count cigar caddy, but I wanted to add humidification without using the floral foam in the lid. I realized that the majority of the cigars I smoke aren't long enough to take up the whole caddy, so I grabbed some old nylon stockings (washed them first) and some beads and tried to see what I could come up with. Not as elegant as what some of the other guys can do, but I think it'll work.

It'll work, but it might be a little over kill for that small space...I use the humi puck.

Re: adding beads to a cigar caddy
does the lid have a puck? Put beads in there with a little mesh. More than adequate, IMO

I like it... Personally I always have 1-2 bead tubes in my 50 ct. And I pretty much always take the 50 ct... I just love it more than the 10 ct I have. Nicely done! :D

Looks Good!--I have an 18 and a 30 and I found that the puck comes off and can be pried open and I just fill that with beads. works good for me.
yours does look good and functional. Kev:ss:ss |

I just throw a 65% Boveda Pack in mine, and I have never had a problem. I like to take the easy route.

Re: adding beads to a cigar caddy
I just put my cigars in the caddy and cover them with a layer of beads...

Re: adding beads to a cigar caddy
I sometimes use something similar. I use knee his from Walgreens. One of those little eggs with 2 knee his can be as cheap at 29 cents. At "full" price, they are about 50 or 60 cents. I just tie knots in the knee his to make bead tubes/pockets of whatever size I want.
I also have a handful of 5x2 inch heartfelt humidity sheets. They work well for trips of a week or so. |
