I remember seeing her films probably every month or two on TV as a child. My sister and I would sing along, "Animal crackers, in my soup...". RIP, Shirley.

She was an amazing talent. If you watch her movies now, it's actually quite impressive such a young girl could entertain like she could. She is in the company of only a handful of child entertainers that were really on the top level.

Hated to hear that. Like James said, I remember watching her movies on TV when I was younger.

RIP. A child star that didn't die of a drug overdose and actually did a lot of good in her life!

I grew up loving several of her movies and enjoyed sharing them with my daughter and now with my grandaughter and grandson.

A child star who didn't end up a mess later in life. Instead, went on to more meaningful things

Two good movies from her:

Red-Haired Alibi (1932) / Stolen Jools (1931)

All star casts indeed. 1930's had some of Americas best movies IMO.

Growing up my mother would force me and my brother to watch her films and when you're so young watching them you don't appreciate the talent at the time but now as an older man I see what my mother enjoyed so much about her. She was an amazing talent and a great American. RIP Shirley! You will be missed!
