Introducing cigars

I have a friend who has talked about trying cigars. Do you guys have any advice for introducing someone new to the hobby? Thinking about taking him to a local B&M, they have a nice lounge with TV's and a self serve bar. Any tips on type of smoke or anything else? I'm thinking a Macanudo Cafe Hyde Park since they are pretty mild sticks.

Start mild then work his way up. Or just give him a good push down the slope.

Listen to Kevin, and just push him down the slope.

That's a good stick to start him off with. After that, a LFD Double Ligero. :D kidding!

:tpd: Maybe a Macanudo or a Fuente Chateau, not too big. Be sure to have a sugary drink or a sugar packet close by in case the nicotine is too much. :2

Bob is wise!

My first cigar was a Macanudo Portofino and it was the perfect bait :)

I say an AVO Signature, premium stick, Davidoff quality control, GREAT nuanced flavors! I little stronger than Mild but not crazy strong in body. Me personally I had a Connecticut Wrapper my first cigar thought it was disgusting, had a Maduro as my second and lived the sweetness and heavier body. I have never enjoyed a con wrapper, I'd start medium and work up, don't give him LFD but not hot smoky air, just my experience getting started! Do what you want hope bring him in to the great world of cigar smoking!

I started a friend of mine off with a Macanudo Hyde Park paired with a root beer. He really enjoyed the experience.
