Well, I am not sure if you guys saw but last friday I found out that I will advancing to Chief (E7)
Today I just found out that I will moving everybody to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I will taking a Chief Engineer job on a 110' Patrol boat.

I have only been in the airport in Puerto Rico, but I am sure living there won't suck :tu

I've only been to Old San Juan during a cruise stop, but enjoyed it immensely. Great food, great rum, lots to do and see, and the people were great. Enjoy your tour there!

First Congrats on the promotion! It's exciting moving to a new place but can also be a pain so good luck with everything!

The Cigar House (pretty touristy though)
257 Fortaleza St
Old San Juan, Puerto Rico 00901

Beware the glass tops all over San Juan unless you're looking for a conversation piece

From ManvFood

Restaurant Raices

... PORK CHOPS

# Street Recinto Sur # 315,
San Juan, Puerto Rico

I have a friend at work from Puerto Rico and she agreed the deep fried pork chop was awesome.

Its been so long since I have been there but the non tourist places and the places where people actually want repeat business are over on the other side of the island in Ponce'. There was a nice cigar bar over there too but that was almost 30 years ago.

Congrats on your promotion and the move! I go fishing there when possible, and though some of the bay areas aren't all that "pretty", the Tarpon are plentiful :)

Great place for cigars, but holy-moly there are a lot of counterfeits (IME).

Safe travels brother!

I like Adam but he missed the boat in Old San Juan.
Raices is a tourist spot.
If you want food that blows Raices away, go to El Jibarito.
True home style food.

Shawn,
Congrats on promo.
Be careful with family in San Juan.
There is a reason why there is a cop every half block in Old San Juan.
