Ashton VSG Torpedo Review
$13
Strength: Full Wrapper: Sun Grown Origin: Dominican Republic Shape: Torpedo 6.5"x55 http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/pictur...pictureid=7957 Prelight: cocoa and coffee and caramel 1st 1/3... Nice draw, caramel, mild leather and sweet tobacco and creamy More of a medium body then sold as full, perfect construction and burn. I'm always surprised how the same line of VSG cigars can be a different animal, similar to how the VSG Enchantment (4 3/8" x 60 ) is over the torpedo but close. I had a VSG Robusto (5.5" x 50) this morning and it was closer to the VSG Enchantment (4 3/8" x 60 ) The VSG Torpedo is closer to the Ashton VSG Illusion (6.5" x 44) in flavors. I like the Robusto and Enchantment better then the Torpedo or the Illusion by far Getting cherries note and earth coming out also. 2nd 1/3 Ash held on for 2" all the notes above but smoother with a beautiful after taste. Last 1/3... Getting a slight zing of spice on the tongue but it's enjoyable, with a medium nicotine buzz coming on. Flavors seem to be fading with slight white pepper and spice note dominate The Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 is something like this but better in flavor and complexity and at half the cost. Smoke time: 1 hr 30 min Score 7.5 out of 10 |
