Stuck with a tight draw box of Torano. Options?

Well, like the title says, I ordered a box of Carlos Torano Dominico. I've smoked 5 of them, and they have a really tight draw, to the point of not being very enjoyable. What are my options? My humi is set perfect right now, so I'm pretty lost.

Dry box 'em a few days before smoking or buy a draw tool.

Define "perfect".

If the cigars don't feel tight or plugged, I would try and get the RH to the low 60s.
Or maybe dry-box a few sticks before smoking.

Dry boxing is where you purposely leave 'em out of a humidor, right?

I mean the Humi is at a pretty consistent 68%, no leaks.

Yep. Put 'em in a cigar box w/out humidification.

Remember, hygrometers that we use (not lab grade) are ±2% at best, so you could be at or over 70%. The moister the tobacco, the more it swells. Granted the difference is marginal but it could account for a tight draw.

Many, including me, prefer low to mid-60s for RH.

This is the one I'd like to see on a shirt. (Love the expression!)

I don't even pay attention to my hygrometers anymore...if it's smoking great, and I get an even burn...my Shilala beads are doing what they do. And I, like Peter, prefer my RH in the very low 60s. :D

What if he enjoys them?
Should he take your advice and not smoke them?

Brian, I started out thinking the 70/70 "rule" was the way to go but since going to beads my humi has settled at 62-63 and the draw/burn issues have improved. I enjoy my cigars more than ever. :2

Draw tool. Why every BOTL doesn't own one is beyond me.

I just had a wonderful Añejo Shark tonight; right off the draw was tight; took the Henrys out of the cigar caddy, and PRESTO! Perfect draw.

It's a no-brainer; that $15 investment has saved about $200 in cigars over the last 6-8 years.

Yes Peter, he most definitely should take my advice.....the words Torano and Options are inserted in the thread title are they not? I have had burn issues with said Torano's, and it is my advice that he doesn't throw his money away!

Good info in here, never thought to "dry box" a cigar that wasn't drawing well.

Well, I took the question about Options to mean what should he do with the box of cigars with a tight draw. (Could they be salvaged?)

Your post "Don't smoke turd rockets like Torano's" came across quite differently than your previous one.

I am pretty sure he wasn't soliciting opinions about who likes or doesn't like Torano cigars.

I just use my toothpick to poke a tunnel in the
cut end. Usually works, if draw is too tight.
