Anybody remember what happened 48 years ago today?

It was kind of an important day in US history. It's not even on the news.

Shameful.

It's true that there has been no mention of the assassination of President Kennedy in te news today.

There was a quick snippet on NPR this morning.

Not to be contrary, or diminish the fact that JFK died, but why is this a bigger deal than any other day? Do we make a big deal about the day of the assassination of any other president on the day they were killed? If not for others, why more for JFK?

Let's remember all of them.

4/14/1865 Abraham Lincoln
9/19/1881 James Garfield (though shot on July 2)
9/14/1901 William McKinley (though shot on September 6)

All important days in US history. Shame on us for not remembering all of them.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

One of the first things I thought of when I woke up this morning. Truly.

JFK's murder was noted on the Boston stations perhaps because his family were major figures in Massachusetts politics.
