Blame the oil oligopoly. I have a personal belief that the oil companies figured out a few years ago that there are far fewer folks to femaledog about diesel so they jacked the prices up on diesel and kept the difference there using low sulfur etc as a maristroika (Grand deception). Works for most big consuming businesses like trucking companies, utilities etc, as they "surcharge" based upon the weekly fuel pricing indexes or at minimum "pass through" these costs. This "surcharge" is greater than the actual cost/change in cost in diesel so they benefit from the rise in cost to an extent. The airlines should have had a fuel price index surcharge on tickets for a long time.... they don't and it kills them. But it sucks to be an individual consumer of Diesel.

Oh I would LOVE to. Unfortunately, they're not the one's to blame...

A typical 42 gallon barrel of Crude Oil is broken down into the following components: 19.5 gallons is used to produce gasoline, 9.2 gallons are used to produce distillate fuels (such as Heating Oil and Diesel), 4.1 gallons goes for the production of kerosene jet fuel, and 2.3 gallons is used in the production of residual fuels.

Do the math.....Diesel gets Schtupped.....

And it was Al Gore and his Greenies that fuggin HAMMERED Diesel prices.....since 2004, they have skyrocketed.

Damn you lucky springs bastards lol.. ours is still $1.65ish around Denver... :(

Can't complain though... $1.65 is SOOOOO much better than $4... it saves me hundreds a month on my commute! which is more money for cigars... :D
