Your Unorthodox Cigar Lighting Methods

Most oddball thing I have done is use my Wagner HT3500 digital heat gun set to low air flow and 850 degrees. A quick turn of my corona in front of the heat path and I had a perfect toast. Amazing.

How about you guys?

Probably the weirdest way that I have lit a cigar is with toothpicks. I was in my car with only a bic lighter. I had ruined one cigar by using a bic and I swore I would never do that again. I ended up finding a box of toothpicks and deciding that they were really just labor intensive matches. Totally worth the extra effort :ss

Yesterday - I had an Illusione mk Ultra ready to go but no working lighter or cutter... bit off the cap and used the car lighter! It got the job done... :ss

I've seen people light cigars off gas stoves.

I use a MAPP gas (plumbing) torch all the time when I'm out in the garage. Quick and easy.

i wait until it is exactly 12:00 in the Vuelta abajo, and then use a magnifying glass to capture the same rays from the sun that have kissed my lovley leaf, it only takes about 1/2 hour but for the purest taste it's the only way...heehee

I only use ORTHODOX cigar lighting methods...

seriously, I use a gas (or even electric stove) on Jewish holidays when creating a new fire is prohibited.

I have also lit a PSD4 off a campfire stick in Israel...

Got this a few months back, and its certainly overkill even at roughly the $10.00 I paid, but its also nice to have only refilled its tank once throughout the second half of summer.

I was out of matches, butane, Bic, etc. I went pryo-style:

Got a piece of cardboard and put it on the stove (electric at that). Once it caught fire I took it outside and lit the cigar (not great either; very uneven). Then I put out the cardboard with some water and threw it in the stinky.

Although dangerous & "ghetto" (as the kids would call it today); feeling like I MacGyver'd it was awesome.

All I had was a bic, I'm not a fan of lighters in general, so I lit the ceeder sleave and used it as a match, liked it so much anytime I have a cigar with a ceeder sleave I use that rather than matches or lighters.

Oxy-acetylene shop torch.

I was cutting some 1/4" thick plate steel for a patch to weld onto something, and I stopped working for a smoke. Couldn't find my lighter so I just cranked the tanks open and struck the torch up again and lit up.

In all fairness, I didn't even get the torch CLOSE to the cigar; one puff and I burned nearly an eighth of an inch off the cigar and called it good at that. Talk about a way to smoke one fast and hot.

I didn't have any source of flame once while deployed. I was outta butane for my lighter so I used a bovie. It's a medical cautery used for cauterizing veins and arteries during surgery or to cut escharotomy lines. Google if you don't know what that is, as it is a grim treatment for burns. I'm not gonna get into details, but if you have a mobid curiosity. look it up. HEHEHE
