how long should i smoke it?
 

So, was given a cigar by a fellow member at the cigar lounge. It's not very good. I'm thinking I should smoke it halfway before I pitch it. Thoughs?

:r Excellent ideas guys. I usually try to smoke every cigar at least to the half way point. If it isn't at least 80+ I just pitch it. So far I think there might be 1-2 that didn't make it to the half point.

For the hell of it, what was the cigar?

EDIT do you have a draw poker...you could "accidentally" punch through the wrapper making it unsmokable.

I smoked it halfway. Was a house stick from some random place in the city, just didn't taste good, kinda sour. I'll drink some scotch and grab one of my own in a sec. Thanks :tu

I understand wanting to be kind, but I won't spend 1/2 hour smoking something I am truly not enjoying. I would tell him that the cigar is not my cup of tea, and give him one of my favorites to smoke, saying this is what I enjoy.

To be honest, I have been in your exact situation before. A friend gave me a Arturo Fuente that I just did not enjoy that much. Being new to cigars, I smoked the whole thing.

Let me tell you straight up right now tho, I would not do that again. If I do not like a cigar, I would tell my buddy straight up, "Yo, this cigar just isn't working for me."

If he is a cigar smoker he will understand I am sure, everyone has cigars that they like that others don't. Just lay it on him gently that you are not enjoying it and pitch it. What is the point of smoking it if you are not enjoying it?
