I read through it a couple days ago.... to make a long story short Auburn and it's "mob" connection Mr. Lowder and Mr. McGregor, have been participating in PFP "pay for play" since Pat Dye was coach and there is a possibility that the FBI has evidence of this from taped McGregor phone conversations from last year which occurred right before Cam signed. Basically if it's true Auburn is a little more than screwed.

Such things include guaranteed winning slot machines for AU players at Milt’s (Colonial Board member, AU Booster) Casino, unmarked ATM cards issued to AU players from Colonial Bank (Bobby Lowder-AU Board Member and Booster; Pat Dye-Colonial Board member, AU employee and Booster), forgiven loans to families, friends, donors, etc.

If true, big time jail time, loss of SACS accreditation which means expulsion from the SEC, huge financial implications for AU, removal of Dye’s name from the field and so on.

I skimmed through a lot of the parts at the top, but it does read a lot into a lot of back scratching for a few people.

Considering this is information coming from people who know these things about Auburn, you'd think a lot of it will stick.

Seems to me that not only did Newton get paid, but his dad made out quite well with his trucking company. Also saw a mention about Newton's church being renovated and showing up in a $60k vehicle.

Move along, nothing to see here. Sadly, a lot of these things happen at a lot of $EC schools and other major revenue programs but just don't get caught.

Honestly... I'm not privy to much information regarding this... but I do know the kind of dough that these football programs rake in... and the amount of clout and power that will buy you.

There's a dark underworld behind the scenes of college football... especially in the SEC... and it goes from top to bottom... it's a game... THEY play with each other... one NCAA official decides his payoff isn't cutting it anymore so he exposes a football programs' "dark-doings"... and then said university either pays him more to shut up or they don't... and they take the penalties either way. And everybody is looking for the competitive edge... so if they can't beat you on the field... they will try to take you down off it.

It happens in a lot of places, no doubt about that. I think the $EC just carries the reputation for being a lot more obscene about it.

While I'm not an Auburn fan, I'm not an Anti-Auburn fan. Alabama fans know that means I like to see Auburn win, except when they play Alabama. Because of that, I say, in earnest, it's a shame that the school and the players NOT in on the grabbing will be the ones that suffer. I watched Bama suffer for almost 10 years for the same stuff, except that it was Fat Phil informing against an Alabama high school coach who attempted to peddle his player to Bama, not a father and his son. But, same situation. And it almost ended the Bama program (NCAA was considering a "Kill" recommendation). This DOES go on, the NCAA and SEC turn a blind eye to it until some coach makes a fuss about it (As stated, usually to try and obtain an advantage on the field). If they investigate this to the extent that it truly goes on, I think it would probably taint the NCAA so bad, the congress would shut the NCAA down. Therefore, don't expect any far reaching investigations (outside of the current flap). The NCAA likes it's paychecks too well for that!!

Well, the reason you won't get to play them is because they aren't getting past Bama next week. If for some reason they do, you'll get to see Newton. Auburn isn't going to sit him, they've already made that determination, and the NCAA won't rule on anything for a while.

I guess Auburn's content with getting all of their wins vacated by letting Newton play. IMO, the coach and AD should be fired.

We still haven't heard about any contact with Auburn for a P4P deal. Until we do this is a problem for MSU, not Auburn. :2
