Padron cigars

Anyone know when Padron switched from boxes of 25 to boxes of 26? I am looking to buy a box of 2000's but they say "Made in Honduras" and 25 box count on the side.

Not sure when they changed, but they have factories in Honduras and Nicaragua.

I know I just figured the extra info would help pinpoint the date they went to 26 in a box. Thanks MJ.

I know it's been at least a couple of years, but I don't know why.

Cheers,

When? I don't know, the thousand series has been 26 for as long as I can think of.

Why? Because a 13/13 double stack is more efficient space use than a 13/12 with a spacer :)

Hmmm supposedly these were from 2006...

I sent an FB message to Jeff Padron and asked him when they changed the box count. I'll let you know if I get I reply.

I'd say it was no more than a year ago that CI was selling boxes of 25 or 26.

Jeff Padron just got back to me.

"Hello Michael, sorry for the delayed response.
We started phasing out the 25 count boxes around 2004. So those cigars your friend has are quite old."

Wonder if they're still any good? I like Padrons when they're fresh. Good to hear Jeff Padron actually responded. That's cool, even if it took a while.

Send them to me. I will test them. 2000s are one of my favorites.

I'll trade a new fresh box for your old stash ;)

Looks like I was way off - although I still maintain the 26 counts were available not that long ago.

I just had an aged Padron... not sure how many years were on it (it was gifted). The cello was yellowed from the stain of the oils.

Like a finely aged wine...

If you don't like aged padrons, you can send them to me and I will have them properly disposed of at an approved tobacco disposal facility
