Beads vs gel

I am confused as to which is the best between using beads or the ready-to-use jar of gel...any help should be very much appreciated.

Beads, the gel stuff is nasty. I hated dealing with it. It was about 3 days before I ordered beads after that.

Not only was it opened shipped but it didn't hold humidity worth a crap. It was all over the place. I just threw it out.

Beads. They will help maintain humidity at a given level. They release and absorb as necessary.

Definitely beads, don't even think about gel.

I think you would get 98-99% of votes for beads here, Howard.

I tried the gel-type humidification and it always seemed to run at a high RH. I switched to Heartfelt beads and I would never use anything else. It boggles me how EVERY time I open my humidor it is at exactly 70% RH (using a calibrated hygroset II hygrometer). Yes, I know... you all prefer 65%...

Can't say I agree with the masses here. The Humicare Gel has been great for my father, he has it in 2 humidors, they hold 70% rock solid...

My much more expensive shilala/hcm beads on the other hand have been a nightmare... they are up, they are down, they need to be recharged almost every 2 weeks, i hate them....

I'll probably try heartfelt next, maybe, the humicare gel works great tho.

As I have told you several times you can return your Shilala beads for a refund.

It does not matter what kind of beads you have if your humidor leaks.

Or sell them and use the cash for your gel.

As for me, I'm rocking HCM and HF and love them both equally.
