I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

My home # is forwarded to my cell phone and I get an enormous number of solicitation calls everyday. What I do is I put them in my address book and give them a custom ring tone of MUTE. It works great!! There is probably 100 people in my phone with the name "do not answer"

Our house phones have built in answering machines. We keep the ringers turned off and the volume down real low. If its someone I want to talk to, I call them back.
