Where to Buy Scissors?
 

Looking for cigar scissors. Do no want the folding style or something too fancy. Davidoff not necessary for this purchase.

"A good price" is very subjective.

For instance, I know you said you don't want folding ones, but the Xikar Multi-Tool I just bought for 39 bucks seems a very good price to me.

Something under $50 would be my price range.

A friend has a Davidoff scissors for like $400+ and I do not see a difference between a lessor pair and hers. That is why I don't think it has to be so fancy, but I plan to keep on top of cabinet and did not want a folding one. I would go for the Swiss Army or Porsche Design multi pocket knife for travel.

My Xikar pair was about $30..and I have a coupon that might still work Moses...I'll get back to ya tonite.

Not so much for the knuckles style. I just want a traditional and would rather buy one from someone on this forum. I know there are a few cigar accessory vendors on CS and waiting for them to chime in. Might as well do business with someone here first.

I got the scissors the other day and have tried on three cigars so far. The action is about 90% as good as the Davidoff's. The cuts were easy, accurate, and clean. No crushed leaves or cracking.

The finishing on the outside is a mirror. Inside edge where the finger holes are, are rough, but I guess that is expected. The stainless used feels a touch more flexible than the Davidoff's.

Considering the Davidoff's are $400, this pair of scissors at $17 get's 95% of what the Davidoff's can deliver and I would recommend the "Famous" scissors to anyone looking for tabletop pair.

Deal extreme has a pair for $4.21: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.17171. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Mine has one excellent sharp edge, but the opposite edge wasn't sharpened properly. I might see what I can do with it if I ever find my pen sharpener.
