Started my uncle down the slope today
 

My uncle was in town and had a few hours to kill this afternoon, so we went and grabbed some lunch and had some good conversation. In this conversation he mentioned that he occasionally likes to smoke a cigar. Now I don't talk to my uncle all the time, but I had no idea he was a cigar smoker. He mentioned that he smoked his last cigar a few months ago, and just keeps his cigars in the fridge, because he has no humidor.

So after lunch we had to run back to my house to grab my toolbox and see if we could go get my sister's car started. While I was in the house I made a stop by the Vino, grabbed an extra humidor I had sitting under the bed, and a cutter. I grabbed around 20 sticks or so of various quality, threw 'em in the humidor and out the door I went.

I get in his Jeep and hand him the goods. He looks stunned and says, "What's this"? I tell him he doesn't have to keep his cigars in the fridge anymore, and won't run out for a while. He comments that the number of cigars will keep him busy for a few years. HAHA!!

I wish I had known this whole time that he smoked cigars, we would have been able to enjoy a cigar together a few times by now. Regardless, it feels good to give him that kick in the ass that will send him down the slope. Jokes on him!

That's a good question. We actually didn't get to smoke anything as he didn't have the top off his Jeep, and we had to go pick up his wife and daughter at my soon to be sister in laws bridal shower. And I think most of us know how that goes. If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody.

So, I told him next time I was in town I would stop out and burn a few with 'em. And yeah, I think this will be a great bond with my uncle. We have golfed in the past, but I think this is something that will be better.
