Brooklyn's Finest (2010)

SYNOPSIS:

Quote:

The story revolves around three New York police officers over one week. Eddie is a patrolman played by Richard Gere who only has 7 days left before he can pull the pin and retire. Eddie has seen it all, and he has become so disenchanted with life that he must find some reason each day not to blow his own brains out. Undercover cop Tango played by Don Cheadle has been on the streets too long, causing him to protect Caz (Wesley Snipes) the drug kingpin target he is out to catch. Sal (Ethan Hawke) is a narcotics cop who is under tremendous pressure to provide a healthy home for his pregnant wife and two children. This stress from home and the temptation of all that drug money at his job is causing him to jump back and forth from being a good cop to a bad cop. In the end, all three police officers will eventually come together.
This opens tonight and has a GREAT cast. Is anyone seeing it? I'll be there at 9:05 tonight to watch it. :tu

Reviews said the acting is great...but the directing/storyline sucks.

Yeah, I don't let professional critics help me decide what to see. It looks good to me. ;)

Review to follow tomorrow as usual.

Save it for Blu Ray IMO.

Don Cheadle does a stellar job (as usual) however the story was severely lacking and Richard Gere made me want to investigate my popcorn further. Overall not a horrible movie, but a very disposable Tuesday night rental rather than a movie theatre experience.

I saw this movie on Saturday night.... I thought it was good, thought it was really good. But who am I to judge movies, I think I was the only one that did not like Avatar.

Don Cheadle was the backbone of that story. If it was not for his acting, that movie would have been TOTAL ****.

I am reluctant to watch it again, honestly. Richard Gere killed it for me.

I'm not going to thread jack, but you are NOT alone in disliking Avatar.

Yes, I did think Gere was terrible in the movie. What's up with him and hookers.

Well, I'll save this for Netflix. Sounded interesting at first glance, then I read that it contained lotsa nudity and sex and gore- a no-no for Mama. Sounds like it wasn't very good anyway!

It had some gore and a couple of sex scenes. Overall, you could just miss it and not be missing out.

Thanks for that! Lots else on my list, anyway. My Netflix want list is close to 200 films long!
