Punch Rothchild: Maduro vs. Oscuro?

I am interested in the Punch Rothchilds, either in Maduro or Oscuro. I was looking to pick up a 5ver from CI, but can honestly only afford one or the other. My question for you fine people is which is "better" (which do you prefer and why)? Is there much difference between them?

Thanks,
MJ

I remember the double maduro Punch's weren't bad at all. Can you get them in Maduro Maduro?

I've had a natural and a maduro, both exceeded my expectations. I've wanted to buy some for a while but haven't gotten around to doing so...

They are very reasonably priced but I wish they came in a box of 20 or 25 rather than 50...

Same... perhaps a box split is in order. Wish I could get in on one :(

Both are excellent, MJ. The Oscuro is not black, it is just fermented twice as long.

Sounds like the Oscuro is the way to be. Now would it be cheaper than 15$ plus shipping to do a box split? With the amounts we'd need 10 people to do all 5vers which may be a bit hard.

I'll have to go to my B&M here and see if they have any. Course, they dont tend to be on the cheaper side of MSRP...

Common misconception ;)

Oscuro is made from the upper-most leaves of the plant. Maduro is fermented longer. Oscuro is often called "maduro maduro" or "double maduro," but they aren't really related other than that.
