Fire safe tobacco?
Not sure if this is the right spot, but have you guys heard about FSC? Now that the FDA is in control of cigarettes, what do you think will happen?
http://www.firesafecigarettes.org/it...rettes/History http://www.petoskeynews.com/news/art...cc4c002e0.html What are the chances of this chemical being applied to cigar tobacco as well? Or is it already there?? |
Re: Fire safe tobacco?
I know my parents have both been complaining about them. But on cigarettes they are placing a paper on the inside to stop the burn where as cigars already will stop burning if you set them down.

Re: Fire safe tobacco?
It's not a tobacco treatment AFAIK, it's something in the paper tube, like an extra band.

Re: Fire safe tobacco?
I believe fire safe cigarettes have been required in California for at least a couple of years.

Re: Fire safe tobacco?
From what I know there is a piece of paper inserted every so often along the length of the cigarette that will resist burning unless you are "puffing" on it. The one bright side that my mother found was that they are not "wasting" cigarettes by forgetting about them and letting them burn away in the ashtray.
