Gurkha Legend Robusto
 

I just received these this past week, too late to go out in the Newbie Trade...and had I known these were coming, I would have held off and DMK would have gotten one! (As it is, they're promised to some folks who've been very generous to me.) It's a Connecticut wrapper, Cameroon binder, with Dominican filler. Here's a review I posted elsewhere:


After a few days in the coolerdor, and after suffering for the last few days
with some crap I bought just to keep my nic levels up, I thought I'd
give one of these a try. I didn't take notes or anything because I
didn't think it had enough rest to really deserve a good review, but I
have to give my impressions of it. First off, it's good. VERY good.
Probably my favorite Gurkha so far, because...it tastes the way I had
always imagined a cigar *would* taste before I ever had one. It smells
like a cigar should, too. It's spicy, a tiny bit of menthol, some
juniper, a little bit herbal, but overall just a rich, punchy tobacco
flavor.

The wrapper is Maduro, but it's not listed on puff.com...I think it
*might* be this one:

That's a Legend, and it looks exactly the same except the band
background in the picture looks more bronze and what I have in my hand
is definitely blue. In fairness, it may be the photography to blame. If
it is, then I have in my hand a VERY nice stick! Connecticut broadleaf
wrapper, Cameroon binder, and Dominican filler. This is one savory
smoke. As it's going, I am getting sweet, potent cedar along with the
juniper and menthol, and the air is fragrant with vanilla.

It's taking every bit of willpower I have not to draw the life out of
this thing, to let it rest between draws and give it time to burn
nicely. I want to drink this thing like water after a day in the desert.
I don't even know if I can describe the flavors I get when it marries
with my coffee! I'd say this one's a thumbs-up. :)

ADDENDUM: About two-thirds of the way through, it developed the most incredible cinnamon-apple scent with flashes of clove! The flavor developed from one kind of cedar to another, with hints of that cinnamon-clove mixture. It canoed for a little bit after that, but soon regained its even burn.

If this cigar had a blue label, I think it might be part of the Micro-batch series rather than a Legend. Thanks for the review.
