That's an interesting article, thanks.

I think I'd rather destinkify a cherished pipe with a retort than put it in the oven. Both methods heat up the briar and I already know that a retort will take residual out of a pipe without, maybe, bubbling off the lacquer, for example. I wrote GLP to ask why he did not include retorts in his article.
