Iphone augmented reality apps
 

If you're using Yelp on your Iphone, they just updated it, and it contains a hidden easter egg that adds augmented reality to the app.

To activate the easter egg, open yelp and shake the phone three times, you'll see a message that says "the monocle has been activated".

If you don't know what augmented reality is, basically it's the next big thing in mobile phones, the app uses the camera on the phone to show where you are and overlays it onto google maps so you get a live street level view of where are on the google map.

Other thing I found very cool was, this is the first app I've seen that has an easter egg.

I think it only works on 3GS iPhones.

Yeah, only works on the 3 GS, needs to have a camera, accerlometer and compass to work because it's tracking you in the real world.
