Show us your MacGuyver Moments
Ok so had a little incident today while I was putting on a porkloin on the rotisserie. See it rained most of the night and the bbq was uncovered so being the smart guy I am just plugged her in.
Well zzzzzzzzt shorted out the motor, after unsuccessfully opening it up and trying to get it to work I figured it was pooched. So I did this http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...g?t=1249072627 Working great, other battery is charging should hold for at least this loin. A cordless a ziptie and some inginuity. Not the greatest MacGuyver but I thought it would make an interesting thread. Only rules I ask is that we try to do it via pics and that it was yours or at least you were there, no internet stuff.. |

Re: Show us your MacGuyver Moments
I fixed the couch in my basement with a scrap piece of 1/8" aluminum sheet, an old beach towel, and a coconut. The front support (extends from left side to right side of the couch, supports front end of the seat) had come loose on one side. It was a cheap couch, made with what looks like particle board so nailing/screwing it back together wasn't gonna happen. I unscrewed the leg on the offending side just enough to support part of the aluminum sheet, the rest of the sheeet supports the front end of the couch.
The beach towel adds a little more support to the seat where the original supports had stretched out a bit (straps and thin foam, no springs, nothing substantial to hold up my fat ass). The coconut (two of them actually) also help hold the front end of the couch. It wasn't built beefy enough to only have 4 legs, needed a middle support. The coconuts were the only thing I had handy. That was about 2-3 yrs ago, everything is still holding up well :) |
Re: Show us your MacGuyver Moments
Shawn that made me laugh so hard! I had to turn my monitor around so my old lady could see what I was laughing about. She shook her head and said "what the hell is wrong with people?" Too funny! :r:r
