French Press Convert...
Well, in planning for my Trip up to the Trinity River (Nor Cal) in a couple weeks I thought it would be a good time to go get a press (staying in a cabin). I saw a thread on a $20 Bodum at Traget and I went and got one last night.
I brought it to work this morning and tried it out. Costco's "San Francisco Bay, French Roast". All I can say is HO-LY-Crap, What a diffenence!. I have had this coffe made w/ 3-4 different coffee makers and it NEVER tasted like this. I was working it like a fine stogie, nose reto-haling, smaking my tongue. This tasted like and entirely different coffee. Oh ya, did I mention it was Great! Sorry, i waited so long to get one. But now, I will never want it made in a drip pot again!!!! :tu |

Re: French Press Convert...
Costco coffee? Erk. What you want is some really good fresh roasted beans in a French press. I home roast my own delicious custom blends and I like to share, so PM me.

Re: French Press Convert...
I got a Bodum Eileen 8 cup for Fathers Day and ran my first two batches in it since. I also got five pounds (!) of custom roast from a local large commercial coffee company that they only give to their own people. (My wife works with the wife of one of their executives and he comp'd her all of it. Great guy.) I've got to start making a lot more coffee!
This is a tasty new arena for me as far as this method of brewing, and I am really looking forward to exploring it... |
