This is one of the most expensive cigars I have every purchased and had to see what all the fuss was about.

Prelight: Sweet cedar, sweet tobacco and rose

1st 1/3
Sweet creamy wood notes, dried fruits, slight nuttiness and pleasant mild spice, perfect draw, burning perfectly straight with a light gray ash.

The nuttiness and creaminess dominates

2nd 1/3
Continues with the sweet and creamy profile that includes the dried fruit notes, though the nuttiness has faded and a light roast coffee starts up.

The Ecuador Habano wrapper is not my favorite but a nice change from my maduro love and can't wait to try the La Palina maduro (Maduro 50) Ash just fell off, holding out for 2 ½ in.

The coffee note picks up in a very pleasant manner and the cigar is very relaxing with it's hardly medium strength.

Last 1/3
Roasted coffee bean note increases along with the faint fruit notes along with the creaminess,

Somewhat of a fast burner and was hoping it was slower and trying to keep it down to two puffs a minute.

I'm glad its staying cool with my desire to smoke it to the nub

No.5 remained smooth and flavorful to the very end, never burning too hot or getting harsh.

Although an excellent smoke I can't see buying more at the price and for the money the San Cristobal, similar to its profile, captures much of the same flavors at one third the price in my opinion.

I think its something everyone should try once just for the experience, but put one in front of me I'll gladly smoke it again. :dr

Smoking time: 1 hr 15 min
Score 9.5 out of 10

Nice review Dan. I've enjoyed the two that I've had. Great "change of pace" stick for this maduro whore. :D

I must admit though, I preferred the No.2 (petite lancero) over the No. 5. :2

Yes it was a nice change of pace too for me, I do hear that the No 2 is better and about $25-28 a stick and getting way out of my comfort range of spending

I have some La Palina Maduro 50 coming my way and it's your fault for making me a maduor whore with your thread of your favorite maddy's :D
