Tell Me About Internet TV...

I have this feature on my new laptop computer and have a couple questions.

1) Is it a resource hog?
2) Is the free portion worth using?
3) Is it worth bothering with for someone that doesn't watch a lot of TV in first place?

I looked at it briefly the other day - it seemed limited and the stuff was a lot of clips. Again I really didn't spend a lot of time with it though. Guess it's like most stuff - get what you pay for.

Haven't heard of this Dave, is it a subscription service?

How would it be any different from Hulu, or any of the other sites where you can watch full episodes for free?

If it's this:

doesn't seem to be well regarded by some users

try these instead:

Dave,

what kind of internet tv there are so many variations I couldn't even begin to count. What is the model of laptop, maybe then I can look it up and help.

It's a Dell Inspiron Jason.

I guess I am more interested in knowing if it's a heavy handed(resource hog) application like Skype.
If that is the case, I'm no longer interested ;)

Vic,I'm just trying to get some general information on internet TV in general.

Lotsa TV available. hulu, justintv, channelchooser, channelsurfing.net, tvu networks. The big 4 networks stream programs on their sites too.

Dave,

Until it gathers steam, like the Skype issue really no way of knowing if it is a resource hog (unless someone sends me their laptop, lol). Regardless since the new dell's come with a min of 2gig dual core CPU and 3 gig DDR it shouldn't matter unless you are compiling a program or something. With that Skype shouldn't even be an issue until you try to do 10 things at once. :tu

As far as is it worth it I'd say no but I know my options. ;)

The aforementioned services are pretty good but I prefer ninjavideo.net
