Tassimo, anybody?

We've been using a Tassimo since the first generation Braun models (~2005), and currently have the newest one. While this won't put high end espresso makers to shame, for the ~2 minutes it takes (with zero mess) to make an espresso, macchiato, latte, etc in the morning, we absolutely love our machine. It does a great job of steaming/frothing the real milk. And it's just about the easiest appliance to use. And the number of T Discs available is pretty impressive. The new Starbucks Latte/Cappuccinos T Disc are very close to the real thing too.

Does anyone else Tassimo??

I was looking for a thread on this. I am new to espresso and got a Tassimo for Christmas. Holy, this is handy. So easy to make. My local stores don't have much of a t-disc selection though, but it is still good. I am a espresso and coffee noob though so I have plenty to learn.

Amazon has a decent selection and at certain times you can find $5 discounts or packages for under $10

Re: Tassimo, anybody?

I used to use a Senseo (at least 2 years, anyway), but it was getting hard to find the pods to fit my Senseo locally.

At that point I looked at the Tassimo and the Keurig systems. I decided to go with the Keurig machine - mainly because there were so many more varieties of coffee and tea available in K-cups (at least locally).

BTW, I saw an article on Bloomberg (Iphone version) that mentions that Starbucks and Kroger are having disagreements regarding the use of Starbucks coffee in T-discs. Apparently Kroger sells the Starbucks coffee in their stores and fighting a decision by Starbucks to cut back on bulk bean sales and to move into the single-serve market (presently the fastest growing area of coffee sales.

Have not had any of the Maxwell House coffees. I have had the Suchard and all of the Starbucks coffees.

I've had them all. No real disappointments that I can recall.

And yea, the Keurig is a great machine. But we didn't get it because it doesn't do latte/cappuccinos
