The Most Interesting Man in the World

Okay, so I've spent the last 6 months trying to figure out who the heck is pictured in Legend's (Shawn) Avatar.

Sure, I could have asked him but that'd take out all the fun.

He is, of course, the Most Interesting Man in the World.

And evidently he's a character created by Dos Equis in a new ad campaign. Well, I guess it ain't so new now but it is to me.

Check him out here

It's definitely worth a little bit of your time.

And here are some quotes the man may, or may not, have uttered (my faves in bold/italics):

Quote:

When it is raining, it is because he is sad.

Even his parrot's advice is insightful.

If there were an interesting gland, his would be larger than most men's entire lower intestines.

His shirts never wrinkle.

He is left-handed. And right-handed.

Even if he forgets to put postage on his mail, it gets there.

He once knew a call was a wrong number, even though the person on the other end wouldn't admit it.

You can see his charisma from space.

The police often question him, just because they find him interesting.

He once punched a magician. That's right. You heard me.

When he orders a salad, he gets the dressing right there on top of the salad, where it belongs...where there is no turning back.

If a monument was built in his honor, Mt. Rushmore would close, due to poor attendance.

It is said the sun comes up later on the 6th, in case his Cinco parties run long.

The Mayans prophecized his birth.

Even lucha libres remove their masks in his presence.

He once taught a German Shepard to bark in Spanish.

He serves sizzling fajita platters barehanded.

Bulls flat-out refuse to fight him.

He once buried a time capsule full of things that haven't happened yet.

He has been pronounced dead 7 times...make that 8.

His bear hugs are actually hugs he gives to bears.

He can't be bought, but his beard clippings have been know to show up on auction.

He has never lost a sock.

If he disagrees with you, it is because you are wrong.
Pretty damn funny stuff.

Ooooof....Jeez, I didn't realize I was opening up a can of worms with this one....I was MIA during the whole blowup and just now did some research as to where the heck my buddy was (the oof jeez was about the research not Scott or Al's posts)...I certainly didn't mean to bring all this other stuff up...I only intended to bring up the Most Interesting Man in the World and the humor related to it.

So....how 'bout them Dos Equis?

Huh, for some reason, I roll my eyes and get slightly nauseous when I see them as well....

BTW... Dumb marketing tag line....

"Stay thirsty"

Either it is an insult to the person he is saying it to, as in "you don't get a beer," or an insult to the product, meaning "this crap won't quench your thirst, but you can try."

I am therefore on a boycott of Dos Equis for 2 legendary reasons.... :hf

I see your point, absolutely...but I think they're continuing TMIMITW's pompous attitude (which I still appreciate....for now) and suggesting maybe a combination of both..."you don't get a beer perhaps as often as you'd like" and "please have an endless thirst for & continue to buy my beer so that we can pay our marketers to continue to provide you people with amusing 1-liners....i.e. stay thirsty & buy my beer & I'll continue to amuse you....if not, well, then....no more sayings for you!"

You gotta love:

"He once taught a German Shepard to bark in Spanish."
"He has been pronounced dead 7 times...make that 8."
"He once buried a time capsule full of things that haven't happened yet."

Kinda stupid & pointless? Yeah, kinda.....but it's damn funny all the same.
