Wife called me at work this morning and told me her mom called her and said her grandmothers home had burned to the ground, the house is about an hour and a half away and is unoccupied, looks like a pilot light went out and gas filled the house and it blew up, no one hurt, total loss, wife is very sad as she had a lot of childhood memories there. Up here now.

Sorry, brother. That's awful.
Thank God nobody got hurt.
You all have my prayers.

Damn! Sorry to hear Mike!

I was gripping over the weekend that they turned my dad's electricity off with two freezers full of meat...definitely puts some things perspective!

I echo others. Sad loss, thankfully no injuries.

This. Better to have memories of life than of loss.

Glads no one was hurt - in or around the house. Terrible lose.

Thanks guys, wife's grandma died about 4 years ago, the wife's aunt and uncle bought the house from the other siblings, my mother in law has a house just down the road from this one, basically summer homes, we still have our place but the rest of the cousins will not. Pretty sad to lose the tangible items but memories remain.
