Jamaican Blue Mountain

A fine friend (Raisin) roasted some of this fine bean up for me. Got it on Tuesday via overnight express from his Monday roast. Had a note saying it would peak on Thanksgiving and not to waste it.

Had 2 pots yesterday and one today by myself. What a wonderfully smooth rich nuanced bit of heaven this stuff is. Heresy I know for you purists but I brew it a bit strong and drink it with cream and Splenda. MMM. :D

JBM is my favorite, very well balanced. +1 on brewing it a bit stronger.

It is authentic JBM Mavis Bank Grade One. No blend. No fillers. We're happy that you are happy.

Authentic is the ONLY way we roll.

I used to love me some Wallenford Estate JBM. Good stuff.
Low acid kept my stomach from trying to kill me, but the caffeine made my hair stand up. :)

Re: Jamaican Blue Mountain

There are many different JBM'ers out there.
Wallenford, when right, is very good.
And so is the Castle.
Our preference is Mavis Banks.

I also have a friend that grows coffee J'sBM.
His JBM peaberry is outstanding.

I'm interested in both the blue mountain and Kona coffees. If anyone has some they would like to sell me, please PM me. I dont have a grinder so it would need to be ground if possible. Thanks!

I hear costco has a good blue mountain and/or kona.. but dammit it's never there when I go :(.. maybe it's just my costco that doesn't have it in stock

Re: Jamaican Blue Mountain

where does the time go, i just saw this thread! It was Mavis Banks beans that i sent Dave last year, and like novasurf remarks, it comes it small barrels. It is a large bean and difficult to homeroast, especially with "air" roasters.

JBM are great beans. I enjoyed mine in a French press, loved every sip. Probably one of the best pounds that i have every had the pleasure to enjoy.

for all you Blue Mountain drinkers out there, is it really worth the money? I like kenya AA myself, and have even tried roasting my own with great success.

Should I just pull the trigger and buy a pound?
