Good luck with your venture into bigger & better storage! I'll get there one day. :)

Be sure to check out Shilala's humidification beads. Also, ChasDen makes some awesome drawer inserts for vinotemps. Check those guys out! :tu

Here are some good links but just flipping through the pages in the Accessories discussion area will net you a lot more info.

Yep, lots of good info already here. The most popular unit seems to be the Vinotemp VT28TEDS thermoelectric cooler, which is what I have. Whatever you get make sure it is thermoelectric and not compressor driven, otherwise you will have a difficult time regulating your RH.

I have mine outfitted with ChasDen's shelves and drawers, and two pounds of Heartfelt beads in mesh bags. Works great.

There are plenty of units on the market but just make sure its thermoelectric.

Being in Boston, you may find you only have to run it in the dead of summer, as long as its in an a/c room. Mine only runs a few months out of the year in OH.

Scott's beads are by far the best bang for the buck IMHO.

Tape the drain hole shut, put some trays, shelf's, empty cigar boxes or scrap cedar boards in it, buy the right amount of beads, load it up with cigars and forget it :tu
