I remember when the .40 came out and wondering why? |

End result, they decided that the 10mm was the new go to. Then re-decided that the round was too long, and full powered loads, too powerful. Hence, the .40 S&W became the new king. The rest of the story has been laid out already, I'm feeling like a windbag at this point, sorry. |

Funny, my department (which I retired from in 2017) went from Glock 9mm to Glock 40s right after I left. |

Little follow up: Wanted to get a few more magazines for the M&P. Didn't need brand new ones, they'll be for the range only.
Sometimes I forget that AIM Surplus is about 25 miles away. Sure enough they listed trade in 15 rounders for $14. Drove up and got a few. Used, but plenty of life left in 'em. |

A little Aroma Therapy this weekend with Boo. We've both been pretty busy with life lately and haven't see much of each other, so we decided on a little range time together!
Rock'n the .45 http://oldchurchbbq.com/sharedpictur...20the%2045.jpg Bustin' some clays http://oldchurchbbq.com/sharedpictur...%20Shotgun.jpg Elmer Fudd??? http://oldchurchbbq.com/sharedpictur...mer%20Fudd.jpg Funny part is, I'm shooting the ported 20 ga. that I got for her a couple years ago, because she wanted the 12 ga. pump, and she's rockin' that .45 like there's no tomorrow while I'm happy with my 9mm. Good thing I'm secure in my masculinity! :D |
Re: Second Firearm Thread...
I recently added a red dot to a 686+ and took it out last week to sight it in. First time I've fired off a rest in many years. Beautiful day out in the desert and once I dialed the sight in it shot a ragged hole. I've used optical scopes on handguns in the past but this was my first experience with a red dot. I think it'll help my aging eyes.
This shooting spot is a half hour from my driveway. It's actually up on a hill overlooking a valley and you need a Jeep or other high clearance vehicle to get to it. There are a number of easily accessible shooting spots down below on the valley floor as well (all of which were occupied the day we were there) but I prefer the safety/privacy this spot affords. https://i.imgur.com/DUxdXPm.jpg |

Re: Second Firearm Thread...
Cooler weather is on the way which means more outdoor range time. Anyone got anything new or anything new in the hopper?
I picked up my first six-five creed moor and have my first three hundred BO on the way. Looking forward to ringing some steel. |
Re: Second Firearm Thread...
Going to wring out a new-to-me Walther PPQ 9mm pistol this afternoon. It's my second, it's got the same Trijicon HD sights the first one came with. Looks to be virtually unfired.

This PPQ worked flawlessly today. Whoever installed the sights got them spot on for windage. They hit a trifle high, fine by me.

Re: Second Firearm Thread...
Anybody see the announcement from Glock? They're bringing out a new model, the G44, in .22 long rifle. Same size as the model 19. Debut is 1/20/20.
A .22 from them is long overdue, I think. |

Wait, glock hasn't made a .22lr before? |
